Good mood to you all! In this article we will touch upon a very popular topic among the population. Namely, let's talk about how to clean your computer from junk quickly and without unnecessary noise.

After all, you must admit that no one likes it when their PC starts to glitch and slow down. Many impatient people simply lose their nerve in such cases. But don’t worry so much, everything can be easily fixed.

The installation itself is standard, so there should be no problems. Therefore, let’s immediately proceed to launching the application:

And the “Cleaning” tab opens first:

The middle column will show all directories and folders from which various temporary files and other unnecessary garbage will be deleted. To start this process, immediately click on the “Analysis” button:

The program will start checking all the nooks and crannies of the Windows operating system for any slag and at the end it will produce the following list:

At this step, all we have to do is click on the treasured “Cleanup” button so that all this stuff disappears from the computer:

But here you need to keep in mind that the cache of Internet browsers will also be cleared. Therefore, if you stored any passwords there, they will be lost. Remember this so you don’t grab your heart later.

Now I suggest going to the "Registry" tab:

If anyone doesn’t know what a registry is, let’s briefly explain it. This is a central database of the operating system where all information about installed programs and their settings, equipment and much more is stored.

So, during the operation of the system, many different garbage records accumulate in it, which lead to slowdowns and brakes. So click on the “Search for problems” button in order to get to know the enemy personally:

And after identifying it, you should send it under pressure by clicking the “Fix” button:

But there is one important point here. Before deleting junk entries, the program will prompt you to save the original backup copy of the registry. Be sure to do this so that later, if any applications do not work correctly, you can roll back.

Well, friends and comrades, at this stage we can say that we have already cleaned the computer of unnecessary garbage and other nasties. But this is not the end of CCleaner's capabilities.

As you can see in the screenshot above, here you can control the startup of Windows and browsers, search for duplicates of identical files, and even have the ability to completely erase disks without the possibility of recovering information.

It would also be a good idea to go to the “Settings” of the application. There are also useful options there:

In general, people, here is a simple answer to the question of how to clean your computer of junk quickly and without any routine. Objectively speaking, this program was tested by the author of the article in real life dozens of times.

And the result was always positive. It was immediately clear that the system “came to life” and the incomprehensible glitches and thoughtfulness disappeared. Of course, such methods will not clear viruses, but we will talk about this in.

And in conclusion, I suggest you watch an interesting video on a very hot topic.

Sooner or later, almost every computer owner asks himself the question: how to clean your computer from dust? Some people come to this idea on their own. And someone waits until, as they say, “the cancer on the mountain whistles.”

Often, users encounter problems with the unsatisfactory performance of their “iron friend”, which are not caused by an outdated processor, weak video card or insufficient RAM. There are often times when you sit down to play your favorite 3D shooter, and at the most inopportune moment the computer freezes, and on the screen at that second we contemplate a screenshot of an enemy bullet flying at you. 3-5 seconds pass - and you are already on the list of heroically killed.

Questions arise: why is this so? What's wrong with the computer? Should I contact a professional PC repair? After all, just yesterday I played the same game, and there were no interruptions in the system?! What's happened? Maybe the video card is damaged? Is the processor “tired”? Or maybe friends brought not only new movies on a flash drive, but also a couple of viruses?

So what happened to the computer?

And you begin, using various anti-virus programs, to “gut” your computer for “painful” Trojans, worms, etc. Also, using various utilities that optimize system operation, fix errors, clean the registry, etc.

Having cured all the viruses, corrected the errors, and with a feeling of fulfilling our duty to our computer, we download our favorite game again. And-and-and... after a couple of minutes of playing, out of anger we almost break the monitor with the mouse! Same thing again...

Now we’re calling our friends and waiting for an answer from them about who is to blame and what to do about it. And then one of them, jokingly or seriously, suggested cleaning the computer from dust. And you, in the absence of other options for solving the problem, pick up a brush and a vacuum cleaner, 15 minutes of simple manipulations and BINGO!!! We turn on the computer, and it’s like he’s been born again.

Dust is the main enemy of the computer!

Today you can hardly find a family that does not have a single computer in their home. But over time, unnecessary files accumulate on it. They remain after installing various programs and applications, or dust that accumulates inside the system unit, settling on hard drives, video cards, and motherboards.

In addition, dust envelops wires (loops), fans and radiators, thereby interfering with their cooling and increasing the fire hazard. In this case, the processor temperature can reach 90°C, when its normal temperature varies from 30 to 60°C, depending on the model of the processor itself.

Immediately before cleaning your PC from dust, you need to check the temperature of your processor, chipset, hard drive and video card. After cleaning your computer from dust, you will notice a significant decrease in temperature. This point is very important, because in the absence of the necessary cooling, your computer will often automatically restart or not turn on at all.

So, we clean the computer from dust, and what is needed for this?

  • Vacuum cleaner (if you don’t have one, ask your neighbors)
  • Screwdriver (phillips)
  • Brush (it is better to take one with soft bristles)
  • Simple pencil
  • Eraser
  • Two skillful hands
  • Accuracy
  • Optional - rubber gloves

Cleaning your computer from dust. Stages.

Stage one. Preparing for cleaning

1. Disconnect the computer from the network (take out the plug from the socket).

2. We disconnect all components from the system unit (external modem, printer, sound system, etc.) By the way, in order to avoid later problems with connecting all these “devices” back to the computer, you should remember how everything was originally connected, label the wires or take a photo.

3. It should be noted that a small amount of static voltage sometimes collects in the hole into which the mains plug is connected. It can be removed by simply touching the three exposed contacts with your finger. It may give a slight electric shock, but it is not painful, much less fatal (after all, you have already turned off the power from the network).

4. Next, you should unscrew the bolts from the back that hold the side wall of the system unit. After unscrewing the bolts, remove the cover. It is important here not to mix up the covers, otherwise if you remove the one on the side where the motherboard is attached, in this case you will definitely not clean anything. If you look from the front, you need to unscrew the left side of the system unit.

5. Place the bolts in a jar or any other place where you will not forget that this is where you put the bolts. Those who have a case with latches can skip this step.

6. Place the system unit on the right side, so that the motherboard faces us. You can clean your computer from dust while standing, but when the system unit is lying down, it’s much more convenient.

7. Removes RAM from the system unit. And don’t forget to remove the latches at the ends of the board. There may be one or two.

9. In addition, your system unit may also have a sound card, modem, etc. Most often they are located under the video card - we take them out too.

10. After the above mentioned manipulations, disconnect the hard drive (hard drive) and the drive.

11. Place all the parts that you removed carefully on the floor, preferably in the order in which you took them out. Knowing the order, it will be more convenient for you to install them backwards.

Stage two. Cleaning your computer from dust

1. Take the vacuum cleaner, plug it into a power outlet, remove the tube and nozzle so that you only hold the hose with the handle in your hands. Some vacuum cleaners have special small plastic attachments, we can use them.

2. Take the brush in your second hand and press the “Start” button. Not on a computer, but on a vacuum cleaner!

3. Next, slowly but surely, and most importantly, thoroughly clean the motherboard and system unit with a brush. At the same time, we hold the vacuum cleaner tube five centimeters from the place where we clean with a brush. So, all the dust that is raised by the brush will be sucked into the vacuum cleaner - this is one of the most important points in cleaning your computer from dust.

4. You should also pay attention to cleaning the coolers themselves from dust and dirt due to the fact that the bulk of the dust collects there. In this case, the vacuum cleaner tube must be inserted close to the cooler, then it begins to spin, and the dust located there is sucked out from there. There is a grill on top, and we don’t have to worry that cleaning the dust will damage one of its blades.

5. ATTENTION! You should be careful when holding the vacuum cleaner tube near the motherboards, as you may not be able to hold the tube properly and it will stick to the board. Of course, the tube will not suck in the components of the motherboard, but it may result in a slight blow. Even such a blow can cause damage to the fragile circuit board. You should be careful with this. Do not bring the vacuum cleaner tube too close.

7. After this, we begin drawing, where the very simple pencil from your arsenal will be used. You will need it for the following: the point here is that the contacts - those sections of the boards that are directly inserted into the connectors of the motherboard, sometimes tend to oxidize, as a result of which the board is unstable, and sometimes stops working altogether. Such cases are not uncommon when neither the RAM nor the video card works. There is nothing terrible about this; you need to clean it as carefully as possible from dust.

Let's get back to drawing. We take the board in our hands and, as gently as possible, sketch out the contacts (edges) on both sides with a simple pencil. Be sure to be gentle and careful. It’s as if you were given an engraving by a famous Italian Renaissance artist for restoration. This simple procedure allows you to get rid of oxide on the contacts.

8. Then we take an eraser and again gently and carefully erase what we have drawn. In this case, you should not press hard with the eraser so that there is no rubber left on the contacts. If it still remains, you can simply wipe it off with clean hands.

That’s it, now at this simple stage, cleaning your computer from dust is completed, and you can now proceed to the next steps.

Stage three. Reassembling the computer after cleaning it from dust

After we have cleaned the computer from dust, we assemble our clean system unit into a single whole. In this case, we do everything as during disassembly, only in the reverse order. All components are connected to the system unit. You should assemble very carefully, so that everything is installed in its place and in its connectors. In this case, your hands should be clean or wearing gloves.

We click on the “Start” button, now of the computer, and rejoice. After all, cleaning the system side from dust is finally completed.

  • It is not advisable to place the system unit against the wall itself. 5 centimeters from the wall will be enough. This is necessary for normal ventilation and to prevent the processor from overheating.
  • When you next do wet cleaning in a room, you should definitely wipe behind the system unit, as a lot of dust collects there. Moreover, systematic wet cleaning behind the system unit reduces the accumulation of dust inside it.
  • Cleaning your computer from dust should be done at least once every six months.

To summarize, let us remember that ordinary dust can cause serious malfunctions during computer operation. It collects inside the system unit, which all leads to your computer starting to freeze, slow down, various kinds of errors appear, and so on. Often, accumulated dust even leads to a sudden shutdown of the computer.

In this article, we told you how to clean your computer from dust, and what you need to have and be able to do for this, and also showed what stages the cleaning of your computer from dust and dirt consists of.

If you have difficulty cleaning your computer from dust, you can always contact the computer help center website. Our service technicians will thoroughly and professionally clean your system unit from dust and give valuable recommendations on how to protect your computer from dust in the future.

Call a specialist

When you surf the Internet, the history of all your visits in various browsers is saved on the drive on which the browsers are installed; by default, this is the “C” drive. Gradually, these folders “swell” and clog up our disk space. The Mozilla browser especially clogs up my computer; when I changed it, there was less garbage, although webmasters love it very much))

I work in Chrome, Opera and am currently testing the Yandex browser, I really like it so far, but I can’t find yet where to install it and whether they are even available for the Yandex browser. If you know any convenient ones, write in the comments, I will be grateful.

2. Watch videos, music, images online

Fans of social networks who watch videos, “like” or “dislike”, and listen to music through VKontakte players and similar services suffer greatly from this. Understand that to watch or listen to a video or audio file, your computer first downloads it from online services and only then plays it. And all these files are temporarily stored on your computer and require deletion.

3. When you remove programs from your computer, a lot of garbage remains in the registry

I gave a link to the official website, but you can find a free copy on the Internet quite easily, just type it into a search engine and find it. This program deletes, along with the program itself, a bunch of garbage that remains in the register and history. Learn how to properly remove unnecessary programs, this is very necessary, especially for those who often test new programs and remove unnecessary ones manually.

To uninstall using the Your Uninstaller program, select the desired program and click “Uninstall”, then everything will be clear in order.

4. When downloading various files to your computer

Quite often, we need to temporarily transfer a file to our computer for printing or viewing (a document, a video file, photos, wallpaper, etc.) and then we forget about it, it lies like a dead weight, and we don’t even remember where it was saved, does this happen to you?

So, to store such files, create a “temporary” folder or something similar and clean it regularly. Just create it not on drive “C”!

5. Empty the Recycle Bin on your PC regularly!

How often do you throw out trash at home? So on your computer, clean your trash can every few days. Remember that by simply deleting a file, you do not delete it from your computer, but only move it to the trash and it still clogs up the disk on your computer, with the exception of large files.

We've sorted out those who clog up your PC, let's decide how to clean your computer of junk for Windows 7

What program to clean your computer from junk?

There are several most common programs, but they all have the same principle - cleaning junk files.

I will tell you everything using the example of a program that I use myself - this is Win Optimizer, the screenshots show version 10 of the program.

It’s very easy to find it on the Internet, if you want a paid version, download it, or if you want a free version, it’s your choice. What can she do? Let's figure it out.

Clearing your browsing history

If you click on the “Favorites” button, you can see in my case that in this program I most often use:

I remove unnecessary programs from startup (StartUp Tuner), clean the browsing history (Drive Cleaner), clear the registry of unnecessary files (Registry Optimizer) and perform defragmentation (Defrag 3).

Clearing history is very easy. After installing the program, a very convenient shortcut will appear on your desktop:

By clicking on it, you will immediately begin cleaning your computer of debris. Here's what you'll see in a minute when the program analyzes the contamination on your PC:

The numbers circled in green in the screenshot show the number of files that require cleaning. By clicking on the icons pointed to by red arrows, you can view all files in detail.

After checking, go back with the “Back” button at the top left and click “Delete”

After cleaning you should see the following window:

Now your computer will breathe a sigh of relief and will work more quickly, especially if you do not have the newest build, but an old one, like my PC))

What else do I use to clean my computer?

1. Separate drive “C” for the operating system and we don’t load anything extra!

The most important thing when installing an operating system is to create a separate system drive, usually “C” and a drive for all other files “D” or other Latin letters. So you must make sure that all the files that you download to your computer are loaded onto any drive, but not “C”.

There must always be free space for the computer to operate normally. Checking the availability of free space on drive “C” is very simple. Click "Start" and click "Computer":

On my work computer, I have as many as 100 Gigabits allocated for the “C” drive, and 56.6 of them are still free, there is no reason to worry. And on my home computer, I could afford to allocate only 40 Gigabytes for the system, and recently I manually cleaned this disk, since it was glowing red, this is a signal for mandatory cleaning. If you have Windows 7 or 8, then leave at least 50 GB for the system, since hard drives are now large, 1 TB or more.

If you have less than 10% free space left on drive “C”, be sure to clean the drive of unnecessary files! To do this, you can go to the “START” menu => “Programs” => “Accessories” => “Utilities” and select “Disk Cleanup”, then select the desired disk to clean.

These could be sections “temporary files”, “recycle bin”, game statistics, various videos, photos that you accidentally downloaded to drive “C”.

It is important!

Never download photos, videos, movies, and other large files to the system drive “C”. This disk should contain only the operating system and programs necessary for the computer to operate.

2. Clean the autorun menu

After installing the operating system, you begin to constantly install more and more new programs. Many of them obsessively go into startup, that is, when you turn on the computer, this program automatically starts running.

Such programs include Skype, download master, all kinds of torrent clients, updates for all sorts of browsers, search engines, translators, cleaners, readers, acrobats and many others. Gradually, your computer begins to boot not in 20 seconds, but the loading continues for 3-5 minutes and over time more and more.

To change this disgrace, I go to the startup or StartUp Tuner section in winoptimizer or CCleaner

Next, go to the autorun menu:

Now uncheck the boxes if these programs should not be loaded when the computer starts. Just, Attention! You must be absolutely sure that this is a program or application that can be removed from startup; do not remove all kinds of software applications or files.

Now you will need to run programs that you disable in startup manually, but you will significantly speed up your PC.

I was once on vacation at the seaside, renting an apartment, and the owners allowed me to use their computer; when I started it up, I was horrified. Going to the panel of running processes at the bottom right, I saw a huge pile of shortcuts for all kinds of mail ru games, Skype, programs for playing files and downloading, mail ru cloud, and from them the system performance was zero, the browser opened bookmarks slowly, files were not played.

After cleaning the startup and computer, everything started working much faster. After this story, I realized that not everyone is okay with the cleanliness of their computer disks and decided to write a note about it.

3. Be sure to use an antivirus

It's like brushing your teeth in the mornings and evenings; antivirus on Windows is a must. Some people love Kaspersky, please load the system to its fullest, others prefer nod-32, but I like it free antivirus Avast , it doesn't matter as long as it is effective and updated regularly.

I chose the free version for my home PC and am satisfied, I’ve been using it for 4 years, it is updated regularly, viruses do not bother or infect my hard drive.

Remember that going online without an antivirus running is very dangerous; it should always start when your computer starts and work constantly.

4. Use the task manager when your PC freezes

It often happens that during operation the computer freezes and does not respond to anything. To solve this problem, the key combination “Ctrl” + “Alt” + “Delete” often helps and then you can see which process is crashing the system (click on “memory”) and terminate it.

Select the process and click on “End Process”.

5. Be sure to defragment your disks once a month

Defragmentation- ordering the distribution of memory on the hard drive (hard drive) of a computer, can be carried out by date, name, frequency of accessing files, and so on.

Defragmentation can be done with win Optimizer, with the native defragmenter on your computer, everyone has one, with the O&O Defrag program, with anything, just make sure it’s once a month. In simple words, these are arranging files in a certain order so that access to them is faster and allows information to be evenly distributed on the hard drive.

Here are all the necessary actions that I perform and advise you, friends, on my PC. I am sure that the performance of your personal computer will increase if you carry out such cleaning, but do not forget to do it regularly.

Now you know what program you can use to clean your computer from debris and what actions you can use to increase the speed of your PC. There are many similar programs, but they have the same principle, the main thing is to create a system restore point before deleting files and programs in order to avoid glitches and system crashes.

How do you clean your computer, when was the last time you installed the operating system, please share, mine has been working for 4 years already, it’s time to re-upload it))

Often, users turn to technicians with a problem: why the computer slows down if it is only a few months old from the date of purchase. To eliminate such a problem, the wizard needs no more than 15 minutes to get your computer working in a new way. How does he do this? How to clean your computer yourself? We will deal with this issue now.

Dust is the first reason for braking

Overheating can cause braking. Overheating can occur due to the fact that the system unit simply does not have enough air. Where do you usually have your system manager? Probably in a special compartment of the computer desk.

When operating, especially under heavy loads, system unit components can consume a lot of watts. In terms of power consumption, they can be compared to a hair dryer or a small electric kettle. Of course, such work generates a large amount of heat. It is driven out of the system unit by constantly running fans. As you understand, if you put it in a “blind” niche of the table, and also cover it with a bunch of necessary papers, your computer will be in constant overheating. The equipment tolerates everything, only the fan begins to work differently, more noisily. Even the slightest load causes them to start working at full capacity.

When the load or ambient temperature increases, a special protection of the microprocessor is triggered for the electronic components, it is called throttling. Its main task is to artificially reduce the number of operations performed per second. For example, your computer is performing a complex operation, but from time to time it begins to take small breaks. For this reason, games freeze very often.

If your computer’s radiator is “clogged” with dust, then the transition to respite mode begins much earlier and under lower loads.
To keep your computer from overheating and working as quickly as before, you need to clean it periodically. In this context, we mean mechanical cleaning of the computer.

To clean your computer, you need to remove the system unit from the niche, unscrew a couple of screws, and remove one side cover. That's all. For these purposes, it is not necessary to call a specialist; you can do everything yourself. Clean up the dust wherever you can get it. The main thing is not to break anything.

Action plan:
1.Disconnect the system unit from all wires. If it is difficult for you to remember where a particular wire was connected, then draw a plan on paper or make notes on the wires. Do not disable anything inside the system unit.
2.Take a soft brush and a vacuum cleaner (having removed all attachments in advance, if there is a “wet cleaning” mode, then turn it off too);
3.Lay the system unit on its side (the best place for the procedure is the floor);
4. Turn on the vacuum cleaner to suction, then take the hose with your left hand and bring it to the places where the most dust has accumulated and to the fans.
5.With your right hand, “rumble” in places where dust accumulates, while simultaneously sucking it into the vacuum cleaner. By the way, a vacuum cleaner is necessary to prevent dust from scattering throughout the apartment.
That's it, the cleaning procedure is completed, put back the removed cover of the “system unit”, screwing it in with the screws.
Now your computer will stop overheating, and perhaps stop slowing down.

If you do not have a desktop PC, but a laptop, then contact a computer technician, since not many laptop models allow you to clean the dusty insides simply by removing the cover. Typically, complete disassembly is required. Laptops have very delicate parts, so it is better to have your laptops cleaned by professionals. Note that they need to be cleaned much more often than stationary ones, since due to their compactness, dust is better retained in them.

If you don't clean your laptop in time, more serious problems may arise. Therefore, it is recommended to clean your laptop once a year (this is the minimum). Especially if tailed friends live in your house.

Computer cleaning software

If, after cleaning the hardware, your computer still slows down, then you need to perform software cleaning.

The main reason why a computer slows down is infection with malware (viruses, worms and other evil spirits). Before you clean your computer, you need to get rid of them. How to clean your computer from viruses? It's simple.

To do this, install a powerful antivirus and run a full scan of the entire computer. Choose an antivirus from well-known companies; little-known ones can do harm rather than good. A good option is a trial version of a paid antivirus. As a rule, it is fully functional, but has a usage limit (usually 30 days). As you understand, a paid antivirus is better than a free one.

Remember that two antiviruses cannot exist on a computer at the same time, as this can also cause the computer to slow down.

Temporary files slow down your computer

If, after checking your computer for viruses, it is still slow, then you need to clean it of temporary files. To do this, enable the display of hidden files. Further advice will differ depending on the version of the operating system installed on your computer.

Do the following: Start => Control Panel => Folder Options. In the “View” tab, put a dot next to the “Show hidden files and folders” column, and uncheck the “Hide system, protected files (recommended)” box. After which the computer will ask you if you want to apply this change, you click “Yes”. Then click “Apply”. Now you will have new files and folders on your computer (previously invisible), do not delete them under any circumstances!

Now move on to cleaning. Do everything according to the instructions.
Go to Computer => Local disk (C:) => Windows => Prefetch. In the Prefetch folder, delete everything you see. Then go to the Windows folder, find the Temp folder there and delete everything too.
If you have Windows 7 or Vista, then the next paragraph is for you.
Go to the Local Disk (C:), go to the Users folder, find the folder with the name under which you are registered in the system. Next, find the AppData folder, and in it the Local folder. Then find the Temp folder in it, enter it and delete all the files that you see. If you have several users, then these steps need to be repeated with the folders of each user.

If you have Windows XP, then do what is described in the paragraph below.

Return to the Local Disk (C:), go to the Documents and Settings folder, then go to the folder of the user under which you are registered in the system. In it, find the Local Settings folder, and in it the Temp folder. In the latter, delete everything.
Then return to Local Settings. In it, find the Temporary Internet Files folder. Delete everything in this folder.
If you have several users, then these steps need to be repeated with the folders of each user.

Next, do a standard cleanup of drive C. Go to Computer, then right-click on the Local Disk (C:) icon, go to Properties and check if the “Shrink this drive to save space” checkbox is unchecked. If the checkbox is checked, uncheck it. Then confirm changing the settings for all files on drive C. This way the computer will slow down half as much. Then click on the Disk Cleanup button. In Windows 7, you also need to activate the Clean up system files option. Then click OK and wait.

By the way, in Windows 7 you can put checkmarks next to all items, but in Windows XP not all items can be checked. In particular, do not check the box next to “Compress old files,” otherwise the computer may begin to slow down over time. After clicking the “Ok” button, the system will clear everything itself.

To prevent your computer from slowing down, you can disable some of the visual effects
Right-click on Computer, select Properties, then go to Advanced system settings and activate the Advanced tab. Look where it says Performance - click on Settings.

In Windows 7, you need to uncheck the following items:
1. The menu fades after calling the command.
2. Animation of windows when minimized and expanded.
3. Sliding when opening lists.
4. Smooth scrolling of lists.
5.Fading or sliding effects when prompts appear.
6. Animated controls and elements inside the window.
7. Fading or sliding effects when accessing the menu.
8. Animation in the Start menu and taskbar.
After which you will need to click OK and OK again.

Check autorun. Press Win+R, then type msconfig into the search bar and press Enter. In the startup section, uncheck the boxes for downloaded programs, as well as drivers. Which ones? Decide for yourself.

Advice for advanced users - disable system restore
Inexperienced users believe that system restore cures all “illnesses,” but this is not the case. A rollback usually helps in cases where you have problems with the system, drivers, etc. Therefore, you can turn it off, because it introduces serious braking into the system.

Right-click Computer, select Properties, then System Protection. Opposite the drive (C:) you will see “Enabled”. Select Local disk (C:), click Configure and put a dot
opposite Disable System Protection. If you click the delete button, you can free your computer from all restore points. Then click OK.
If you have a lot of RAM (2 GB or more) and you do not use resource-intensive applications (for example, Photoshop or 3d Max) or games, then disable the page file.

Now do the following: click Start, then right-click on Computer. In the window that appears, find “Advanced system settings”. Open another System Properties window. In it, select the Advanced tab, pay attention to the Performance section and click the Settings button.
In the Performance Options window that opens, find the Advanced tab, find the Virtual Memory inscription there and click Change.

In the Virtual memory window that appears, see if the checkbox is checked
opposite the column “Automatically select the size of the paging file”. If yes, then remove it.
Opposite the column “Without a paging file, put a circle.” Then click the Set button. Windows may not like it, don't pay attention to it. If you have more than two GB of RAM, then feel free to click “Yes”. Confirm the result with the “Ok” button. After which the system will ask you to reboot, allow it to do so.

After rebooting, it’s as if your computer has been replaced! It works very fast. Now Windows is loaded completely into RAM, so the hard drive will be practically not used during its operation, that is, it will wear out less!

If you launch something resource-intensive in the future, don’t worry. If there is not enough RAM, the computer will warn you about it. Then you just need to check the box next to Automatically select the size of the paging file, and then click OK. Then the system will do everything itself.

When we have already dealt with the issue, how to clean your computer. We have almost finished cleaning it (the dust has been wiped off, the viruses have been “kicked out”). You need to do defragmentation. This is done when the computer is clean.

By the way, if you like to play games, you can buy a flash drive (its capacity should be twice the size of the computer’s operating system) and use it with Ready Boost technology. You will feel the productivity increase immediately.

Another tip - do not forget to periodically clear your browser caches. They sometimes specifically interfere with the operation of both browsers and the entire computer.

We solved the problem of computer slowdown without various optimizers, registry cleaners and other things. The computer actually started working faster. In addition, we freed up more than one gigabyte of free space. It obviously won't be superfluous.
By the way, hide system and hidden files, this will make you much safer.

That's all, now your computer will still work fast!

Using a computer for a long time affects its performance. No matter how good your equipment is, junk files, unnecessary programs and dust will affect the operation of your PC, so everyone will have to clean it. If your computer is slow, how to clean it in several ways is described below.

Why does my computer slow down?

When you buy a new laptop or PC, it’s always a pleasure to work on it: everything opens quickly, it responds instantly to your actions, applications load in a matter of seconds. Over time, many reasons will appear that will lead to a deterioration in the performance of your computer - it will begin to slow down, heat up, and periodically reboot. One or more reasons can lead to this condition:

  • body contamination: dust, wool, etc.;
  • unnecessary programs load RAM;
  • the processor overheats;
  • Windows is slowed down by viruses;
  • junk on your hard drive, junk files.

What to do if your computer is slow

When you notice that your PC has become noticeably slower, you can solve this problem in two ways - clean it yourself or call a technician. If you know for sure that you can’t handle it, it’s better to call a specialist, otherwise you can independently use options on how to clean your computer so that it doesn’t slow down. The user’s primary task is to determine why the computer is glitchy and slow. This will give you the direction to work in:

  • clean from viruses and junk files;
  • improve cooling;
  • clean the body and parts;
  • defragment disks.

How to clean your computer of junk yourself

In order to rid your computer of brakes, you need to clean it of debris. To do this, you will need a good vacuum cleaner with a blowing mode, a dust cloth and a set of special utilities for cleaning Windows. The latter are the only effective way to clean your computer of unnecessary programs, but you should still start with regular physical cleaning of the case manually.

Cleaning your computer from dust

Those who are wondering how to clean a computer so as not to slow down should start by opening the case. If you are using a desktop computer, you need to remove one side panel from the system unit. In the case of a laptop, you need to unscrew the back panel completely to gain access to the hardware parts. There is always a huge amount of dust flying around the room, and the fans of the cooling system suck it in, it accumulates on the radiators, cooler blades and the board. Take a damp cloth and switch the vacuum cleaner to blowing air. You need:

  1. Shut down the PC, turn it off completely (from the network).
  2. Wipe the plastic and iron elements of the case with a rag; do not touch the parts (they need a dry cloth).
  3. Thoroughly blow out all the elements with a vacuum cleaner, thoroughly treat the cooling system of the processor, video card, and power supply. The ideal option would be to remove the parts and clean them thoroughly one at a time. This should only be done when you are sure that you can put everything back together, otherwise limit yourself to simple purging.

A clogged cooling system does not perform its functions 100%, which is why computer components overheat and begin to slow down in applications, games, or simply when working on a PC. This is especially true if you have a powerful model - all the TOP parts get very hot. In some cases, the problem of overheating lies in dried thermal paste on the processor chip. In such cases, you need to remove it, wipe off the old paste and apply a new layer.

Virus removal

The most common reason why a computer starts to slow down is viruses. It’s easy to pick them up on the Internet along with program installers - sometimes they are disguised as torrent files, and it’s not possible to immediately identify them: annoying advertisements, banners, and unnecessary programs begin to appear in the system’s startup. Instructions on how to properly clean your computer so that it doesn’t slow down:

  1. Buy a licensed antivirus or download the free DR utility. Web Cure. To find it, go to the “Download” section on the developer’s official website.
  2. Next, we will look at the cleaning process using the Cureit utility. When installing, agree to all points of the rules of use.
  3. Open the program and click on the “Run scan” button - scanning your PC will begin.
  4. This procedure can take a lot of time (depending on the size of the hard drive). Upon completion, detailed information on the malicious files found will appear.
  5. Click on the big orange “Disarm” button.
  6. After the viruses are removed, the PC will restart.

Removing unnecessary programs

The next step to make your PC fast again is to clean your laptop of unnecessary programs and files. Some applications run in the background, ending up in startup. This loads the RAM, which is especially noticeable if you don’t have much of it (4GB). At the same time, half of these programs are not used; they simply hang in the task manager, eating up some of the resources. You can remove them as follows:

  1. Click on "Start".
  2. Go to the "Control Panel" section and find the "Add or Remove Programs" section.
  3. You will see a list of applications installed on your PC. Find and remove those that you do not use or did not install yourself.

Run the built-in Disk Cleanup function

While working, people often install programs, download files from the Internet, and sometimes incorrectly uninstall games and applications. After such actions, it is necessary to clean the system of residual, junk files. This can be done in different ways, but the developers have created a tool built into Windows called Disk Cleanup. It analyzes files in the recycle bin, temporary directory, removing empty folders and program tails. To activate:

  1. Go to "My Computer".
  2. Right-click on the desired hard drive partition.
  3. In the menu, find the “Properties” item, click on it.
  4. In the window that opens there is a “Disk Cleanup” button, confirm the action.

Defragmenting your hard drive

This is another built-in Windows function; it is an option on how to clean your computer so that it doesn’t slow down. The PC hard drive has a unique system for recording data in the form of sectors. Users often erase and install games and programs, so the sectors are filled unevenly, which leads to the system slowing down. To defragment a disk, you must:

  1. Go to “My Computer” and right-click on the required hard drive partition.
  2. Right-click and click on “Properties” in the menu.
  3. Go to the "Service" section.
  4. Click on the “Defragmentation” or “Optimize” button (on version 10 of Windows).

Cleaning your computer from unnecessary files and empty folders

If you yourself cannot determine which files and folders are needed and which are not, then special software will help correct this situation. These programs analyze your system, registry, hard drives and offer to delete a certain number of objects that, in their opinion, are not valuable. Below we will describe which program to clean your computer so that it doesn’t slow down.

The best programs for cleaning your computer

To clean a PC, they use different programs: for example, RegCleaner, Norton WinDoctor, but CCleaner is considered the best, which has wide functionality and a simple control interface. To download, you can go to the official website and click the “Download” button (registration is not required for this). Install the program and run it, then you need to:

  1. You will see the “Clear” tab, where you can delete the cache (temporary files) from the browser. In the menu on the left you can make settings for searching for objects that need to be cleaned, but it’s better to leave everything as it is. Click on the “Analysis” button, all kinds of “broken” documents, copies, etc. will be found. Once the process is complete, click "Clear".
  2. Next, you should clean the system registry to get rid of errors that cause slowdowns. Go to the “Registry” section in the left menu and click the “Search for problems” button. The utility will find the necessary documents, provide a full report, and offer to make a backup copy (agree and save). Then click the “Fix” button.
  3. Then go to the “Service” tab, in which you need to select the “Startup” section. Select all programs unfamiliar to you and click “Turn off” next to them.

The utility performs all actions automatically; you do not need to configure or enter anything additional. A backup copy of the registry is needed in case some functions stop working after being corrected by the program. After such cleaning of the PC, you should restart it and check whether unnecessary applications that were turned off from startup have started.
